The "Move" - My new roommate

I'm no longer a Pennsylvanian.

So far, in my short life, I've been a Tenneseean (a very short time), South Carolinian, Pennsylvanian, and now.. a West Virginian!  I'm told that this might change again, to a Marylander!

My person loaded me into the rumbling machine on Friday.  She always thinks that she can trick me by getting the carrier out the day before, but I know when travel is imminent.  We had many cracks and crevices due to the piles of boxes in every corner.  I made an unusually poor judgement call, and attempted to hide under a kitchen chair.  (Note-to-self: in the future, hide under furniture that cannot easily be picked up...)

I made it clear for 2.9 hours of the 3.0 hour drive that I was not happy.

We entered the house that we will be sharing with my Grandparents and their beast!  Unbelievable! This dog is absolutely viscious, and one of the first things that I discovered is this threatingly-mutilated bunny rabbit under the bed.  Is she trying to tell me that my face is the next to go???

There was a confrontation, which involved hissing and chasing.  I need to put this creature in her place!

But, let me tell you.  It does take a great deal of courage to face a snarling, slobbering canine like this!  Look at that evil face!!!  (Please pray that it doesn't devour me in the middle of the night!!) :(

More tales of our adventures are sure to come, but for now. I'm just too exhausted to continue.  Have a great Sunday!

Snow day

I thought I'd have a quiet day (alone!) at home today, but then that white stuff started falling from the sky.  "Snow" they call it.  Strange stuff.  It brings out a range of emotions in people from "Yay, it's snowing" to "Ugh, I hate shoveling."

I don't know what the big deal is.  It kind of hurts my eyes at first, but when I get used to it, I can see the birds and squirrels really well.

I don't like it when the big trucks with hunks of metals go by, though,  They always hit the bump in the road and make big bangy sounds.  It makes my tail go fluffy!  (That's never good.)

I have been getting a little extra play-time in today, since person is here all day long.  I like to chase toys down the steps, and then watch person have to pick them all up again.  (Heh heh, people what can I say?...) :)

I'm kind of tired now, so I'll just hang out in the circly part of my tree and watch the birds.  I hope another truck doesn't go past...

Jackpot!

Oh, yeah.  Life can have its blessings even at what seems like the worst of times...

So, here's the deal.  My home is a shambles.  My person keeps babbling about finding a new place to live, and packing, and boxes, and change-of-address.... whatever.

Meanwhile, my person is showering me with gifts.  Boxes!  Boxes of every shape and size.  Some have lids, some have flaps.  All of them are very cardboardy!  I can jump in and out of them.  It rocks!

Now, the other night, when my person was sleeping, I discovered a huge empty box with flaps.  Well, I jumped in, and the flaps closed behind me.  When I tried to jump out, the flaps tried to push me back in.  I made lots of noise, but escaped on my own before my person could rescue me.

I ran to my cat tree.  Things are always better if you climb into your cat tree.  (Closets and under-the-bed places work nicely, too.)

So, then, my person starts putting stuff into my boxes.  That was ok, but then she got out this round thing with sticky clear stuff attached.  She moved it around the boxes, and it made a terrible noise.  It scared me, and I ran to my under-the-bed place.  She does this a lot, and the next thing you know the boxes are shut tight, and I cannot get into them.

But I can climb onto them! :)

There are rewards to moving and packing.  Sometimes we find thing like toys that we haven't seen in a long time.

My person peeked under the couch, and found my secret-special place this morning.  It is where I keep my favorite toys so that they are safe.  Unfortunately, I could never get them back after they were put there.  She pulled them out for me, and here they are!!!

Milk/juice/creamer stoppers are the bestest toys in the world (if you don't have any stinkbugs or spiders handy.)

I'm going to go climb my tree now.  Somebody is walking their dog-thing outside, and I need to glare at them.
